When looking for a partner to give back to the environment, there were many options. After careful evaluation, we decided to partner with American Forests . As it turns out, trees in cities and towns make up the ‘green infrastructure’ that provides clean air and pure water – benefits that effect everybody. Just in one year alone, American Forests planted over four million trees in America.
Since the start of our partnership with American Forests, and with thanks to Arnco customers, we collectively have been responsible for planting over fifteen thousand trees! That’s enough trees to cover about forty-five acres or an area roughly the size of a thirty-three football fields
Founded in 1875, American Forests has become the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization and works throughout all of America assisting communities in planning and implementing tree and forest actions to restore and maintain healthy ecosystems and communities. and communication activities with local partners.
Whether it is planting trees to restore ecosystems damaged by wildfire, working with cities to reverse the decline in urban tree cover or instituting a Living Classroom project at a local school everything they do is community based. American Forests is a leading proponent of community-based forestry in the United States, providing workshops; publications and other resources to help people in communities use their resources in exciting new ways.
